DeSimone's Country Market / Harmony Lane Farm

There are now 3 generations working together for the daily operations of our farm.  We started farming in 1984, and have been growing produce since the beginning.  We have been raising livestock and field crops, but have increased our vegetable crop production over the last several years. With the addition of the bakery production in 2010, and the construction of a high tunnel for extending the growing season of produce in 2012, we have been able to expand our availability of products, and plan on continuing to grow into the future.  We grow just about every type of produce that can be grown in our region, which allows us to provide a vast selection of high quality products to our customers throughout the entire growing season.

Eat Local Fresh Foods

Posted by DeSimone :: Wednesday, February 1 :: 11:29am

     We're excited to open our 2017 CSA to membership sign ups! Right now we're using the winter weather to look over our customer's crop favorites from last year and to browse all the new seed catalogs arriving in the mail. We want to keep all your favorites while introducing some fun new veggie varieties.

     Our CSA is a great way to eat local fruits and vegetables at the peek of freshness, and with our CSA you get to choose the fruits and veggies that you fill your basket with.

Getting closer

Posted by DeSimone :: Sunday, January 24 :: 11:09am

It is the final week of January and after a two week cold spell things are looking up.  We should be starting the first planting for this year in the greenhouse next week.  With some sunny days the temps should stay fairly nice and keep the propane bill down.

Think Spring

Up until now the winter of 2015/2016 has not been bad for northern Ohio but we knew that it wouldn't last.  This morning it is 9 outside and we are looking at a high of only 20.  Last week we were doing lots of cleanup outside getting ready for this year and it felt nice outside with just a sweat shirt on.  We got a lot of outside work done as well as work in the greenhouse and the high tunnels.  We should have saved the greenhouse work for a day like today.

CSA signups start on 01/15 for this season.  The information for this year's program will be available by then.  We have had a lot of interest from our old friends as well as potential new members so don't delay.
